Time to try the Gym again... [Aug. 12th, 2009|07:20 pm]
Thrasher Kitch
So, I saw a random stand in Square One mall today and they were advertising for a gym in my area. Talked to the guys there and ended up signing up for it.

It's a short drive from my place, and it's relatively inexpensive, only 25/mo.

They're gonna help out with a few personal trainer sessions and some other tidbits and such along the way.

I've been (mostly) good about keeping on a diet for a while, maybe that means I can actually keep up with goin to the gym now, too...

We shall see...

Going friday night for the first time...

Advertisin! [Jul. 27th, 2009|12:30 am]

I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that the ENies are
again upon us, and like last year, we have the opportunity to support
Changeling the Lost! The Rose-Bride's Plight, by our very own Jess
Hartley, has been nominated for Best Adventure. The full details are
below, but I wanted to take a moment to encourage you to vote!

URL: http://www.ennie-awards.com/voting/ballot.asp
Category and Product: Best Adventure: The Rose-Bride's Plight

INFORMATION

The ENnies
The ENnie awards are, arguably, the gaming industry's biggest and most
prestigous awards. Game companies from around the world send in their
products, and a panel of judges chooses their top few in each
category. Those choices become the nominations, and are released to
the public, who then vote on the winner. Anyone can vote (once per
computer) and the voting ends on August 1st.

The Author
Jess Hartley (www.jesshartley.com) wrote The Rose-Bride's Plight, and
also worked on Hunter: The Vigil, both published by White Wolf games

The Product
The Rose-Bride's Plight is a murder mystery with a twist, that draws
on elements of Snow White, Romeo and Juliet and introduces a dark and
intriguing cast of characters for players to interact with. It is
designed for use in a Changeling: The Lost game.

Quote:

Mortality/Morbidity

* Cardiovascular disease (aortic dilatation and dissection) is the major cause of morbidity and mortality.
* Progression from mitral valve prolapse to mitral regurgitation, often in conjunction with tricuspid prolapse and regurgitation, is the most common cause of infant morbidity. If untreated, Marfan syndrome is highly lethal; the average age at death is 30-40 years.
* Death after infancy usually involves ascending aortic dissection and chronic aortic regurgitation. Dissection generally occurs at the aortic root and is uncommon in childhood and adolescence.

Really, now?

Is the world in such bad shape that kids need to start carrying a bullet proof slab in their backpack to protect against school shootings?
